Data, information, and Knowledge


Data are the most basic signal such as 1 and 0. In biology signals such as A, T, G, and C are data. A protein sequence MKTTACCAPL is a datum.
In the information topology, data are one-dimensional. The data elements are either simple vertices or edges.

Information is a connected data that has functional meaning assigned. Such as a protein sequence MKTTACCAPL that has an assigned meaning of snake venom that is only found in a viper species. 
In the information topology, information is two dimensional. In terms of network topology, it has linear edges and vertices.

Knowledge is dynamic and contextual information that can be applied to solve problems by providing logical conclusions and decision makings. Knowledge is a short story body of logical steps. Depending on the interpreter, the knowledge can generate further data and information with directions and purposes.
In the information topology, knowledge is three or more dimensional and forms a feed back edges with data and information vertices.

Fractality of data, information and knowledge.
Data, information, and knowledge have the encapsulation property. Therefore, a piece of knowledge after complex information processing can be encapsulated as a data point. This ecapsulation property is fractal and occurs again and again in infinite number of layers.

The most complex knowledge body in the universe.
The most complex data, information, and knowledge bodies in the universe are biological.
